TCP/IP Header Bit Added to Improve Security 338

J0e 1337 wrote in to tell us about a recent development in the TCP/IP header RFC. He says "According to the just-released RFC, conveniently labeled number 3514 for easy rememberance, a new bit will be added to enhance security. This new evil bit will make it possible to route based on the evil status of any given packet. It's about TIme!!" You might want to read A Related Slashdot Story in order to more fully understand the scope of this exciting new RFC.

I've been subscribed to Slashdot since the option became available, and I check this site all of the time.

But *five* times! This really isn't funny, and it holding back from any ligitamate news stories.

Should I be regretting my subscription money?

This is moderated +5 Funny but it really should be "Insightful". I would donate to this site just as I have for many other sites if it weren't for the sheer idiocy that is sometimes displayed by the editors here.

This was funny the first couple times but now it's just pathetic.

You're looking at this from the wrong perspective!

I think it more than likely has got something to do with Taco genuinely LOATHING the admin of rfc-editor.org and thus wants to drive him into financial despair by slashdotting his site five time over...

    ... or something else.

    [blah blah blah blah blah]

Sorry for the rant in this inane and pointless thread, but...wake up and smell the burning flesh, huh?

It's April Fools Day, here in the USA, a tradition of humor (as you may note, terribly needed at this current time) in pulling small pranks (your shoe is untied, spider on your shoulder, etc.) The real fools are either in Washington D.C. or elected this batch of extremists (good/evil, with us or against us, willing to kill women and children vs. willing to kill women and children)

Whatever, eh? The dig at the french is in humor, which apparently eluded you. I love the french and respect them (and the germans, too) for standing up to the bunch of coldwarriors who called them names and launched the war. Don't pity us yet, you'll have years to do that, as the people whose blood is boiling over this plot their revenge against us. It's all so stupid. Perhaps April Fools Day is more appropriat than ever.
