Star Wars Props Up For Auction 290

innocence18 writes "Auctioneers Profiles in History are set to auction off a number of Star Wars props from the original trilogy movies. Fromthe collection of Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz, the pieces on offer include Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader's lightsabers as well as various costumes and masks." While I can't imagine wanting to wear Luke's X-Wing flight suit, I think that light saber is pretty sweet. Although I bet it goes for the price of a new car.

What ever happened to the full sized prop of the Millenium Falcon? It was built in Wales and then brought to the set in Elstree...but then what? [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/south_we st/4555455.stm%5D [bbc.co.uk]

That would be a kickass prop to have in the backyard - geek or not, it would be the shit to have friends and neighbors over for beers-n-burgers lounging around the MF.

Because if he would have RTFA he would have realised the money generated from the auction was going not to line the pockets of George Lucas, but rather to preserve the rest of the props and other pieces of memoribilia from the original Star Wars movies. It's an independant project and they need funding to get it going.
And how the f*ck is an auction with a few props going to "rob you blind"? Don't go and don't bid if you aren't interested. That's why he's modded troll (And for once... good job mods)

I have always wanted an original model of a Tie Fighter. I'm sure there must be a few of those around. But, short of inventing a time machine so I could steal one before the crew got them all, I doubt I'll ever even lay eyes on one.

Man, that would be so cool!!1one!!

It was when ep1 first opened. I was at a theatre in toronto(well scarborough) and it has some stars wars stuff. Then I saw the vader suit in a glass case. I thought 'cool' and walked up to it. Then I read on the bottom 'this is the suit that David Prowse wore in empire strikes back'. I'm not a collector of any stuff like that but I remember wanting to grab the whole hulking case and run out of there like a stir crazy geek. heh. I wonder if thats up for auction.

they shoud have just had the pants on the entire scene

No, they should have been *off* for the entire scene. Preferably with the rest of her clothes and Hayden Christiansen missing as well.

If they did that version, I might actually be interested enough to bother watching the movie. Although I'd probably wait for the DVD as we don't want any "Pee Wee Herman" style unpleasantness in the cinema...
