Watching All Six Star Wars Movies Simultaneously 332

DavidSJ writes "WeirdHat created a video of all Star Wars movies being played simultaneously, side-by-side, and then watched it. Some notable finds: the first appearance of Palpatine in The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones is on the same frame. Also, the Jedi Rocks music in Episode VI provides amusing accompaniment to the Anakain/Obi-Wan vs. Dooku fight in Episode III."

I'm sorry, but if you can't appreciate The Empire Strikes Back as a grown-up, then you grew too far up.

Think about it: It's a funny movie, but it has no gags or outright jokes. It's a romantic movie, with only like 2 quick kisses. It's even an action movie, but there aren't even all of the expolosions like in a Lethal Weapon movie. Every good guy gets the crap kicked out of him, and you still leave it with a hopeful feeling. I have only discussed the story, and haven't even begin to touch the vast differences between the beauty of the worlds created by these people.

I realize that you have a right to an opinion, but I think you were out of line using words like thoughtless or stupefied, especially if you enjoy spending lots of time on other activities, like TV or video games.

Slow news day, is it? Honestly, this is one of the most ridiculous (i.e., uninteresting, uninspired, un-newsworthy) stories I've seen on Slashdot in quite a while.
That's it. Hand over your geek card, you communist.

... and did you know that in the video of Bill Gates and the Blue Screen of Death, the crash is exactly at the same frame as he gets a pie in his face in this other video?

Come on, anyone can pick one of the topics that are popular on Slashdot, find some video clips, play them simultaneously and make a statement about it.

    - That doesn't make it "News for Nerds. Stuff that matters."

You're not going to get an answer to your question. People like me who agree with you don't understand it either, and to everyone else you're a blasphemer, as the current moderation on this question indicates.

I saw Star Wars (I suppose they're calling it "ANH" or Episode 4 these days, although there was no hint of that in the titles at the time) in the theaters when it first came out, and it was really cool!. But I was 14 at the time, so that's to be expected. Now? Meh. The writing is vapid, the acting (with notable exceptions for the older actors) is wooden, and there are plot holes you could drive a truck through. The special effects were good though.

They just post a few hundred angry messages when you put such articles up.

Remember, it's not the just editors that put articles up. Users have to submit the articles. If you're just whining about the articles here and never go looking for any news that might be cool to have on /., you're part of the problem.

I agree with you completely. All six of the Star Wars films are complete garbage. However, I realize that people here are way too obsessed with it and that they will systematically mod anything against Star Wars down. I find it hilarious that a grown man can watch these movies and honestly think that they are watching an amazing piece of cinema. At least most females see them for the garbage they are.

Remember, a lot of these people are the same idiots who camped out in front of the movie theatre to see episode 3 even after watching episode 1 and 2 and hating them. They will also be the same people who in a few years (when George Lucas gets offered another big cash sum that he can't refuse) that will camp out for the next installment of this atrocious series.

Honestly, I can't blame Lucas either. I would keep making these movies and raking in the money as a lot of these idiots would watch another 20 terrible Star Wars movies, bitch and moan about them, and yet still continue to pay for them and their associated merchandise.
