First 3-D IMAX Porn Movie Made In Hong Kong 201

tekgoblin writes "Christopher Sun of Hong Kong is directing a new porn movie that will actually be in 3-D. The movie is being called 3-D Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy and will be the first 3-D IMAX porn movie. From the article: 'First out of the gates, the soft porn Hong Kong film comes as the stricken industry, hit hard by free Internet porn in recent years, turns to 3-D as a potential money-spinner, following on from the success of Hollywood blockbusters such as James Cameron's Avatar.'"

I thought the "appeal" in that disappeared when the VCR was invented.....

Betamax was a superior format to VHS with higher quality image to VHS. Why did VHS win? No porn available on betamax! Never underestimate the purchasing power of people who spend money with their penis in control of their wallet.

Wow, you have IMAX porn movies at home? Oh sorry, you just read the headline.

Porn is a masturbation tool. Soft porn has no use at all, except maybe to pretend to be porn where real porn doesn't or can't exist.

However as a masturbation tool anyone who tries to build a business model by showing porn in public is doomed to failure because no one is encouraged to masturbate in public. In fact that would be kind of creepy. It's why porn magazines, books and videos (which you can take home) and internet porn (which you can view at home) are successful, whereas porn cinemas often do poorly - especially since the 1970's and the invention of video tapes.

The only exception to this is the strip club/peep show genre, since live women are hard to reproduce at home by those that seek them.

I dunno, I guess some people are willing to pay for anything. And teenagers are always desperate to see a pair of tits. I find it hard to see this as a long term revenue generator however.

Why? Like eating, sex is a pleasurable biological function. Do you "[worry] about our future as a species" when you discover people pay money for a good meal? If so, why do you view sex differently?

Apparently, the sad sad creature that you are, you can only be turned on by, what, close-up shots of vulvas and fake tits?

Because if you pay for a meal you actually get the food. Pay for porn and you don't actually get the sex. It's more like paying to watch other people eating.

Can't you think of a car analogy instead?

You realize this is incredibly popular. Cooking shows have been popular for a long time. Food Network is very successful. A show like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is not much more than watching a guy eat tons of food and talk about how wonderful it is. If that doesn't fit the analogy perfectly, I don't know what does.

We are hard-wired to love the Four Fs. Feeding, fleeing, fighting, and fucking. And we are more than happy to watch video of all of them.
