  • And this after having been recently named to head the American Geophysical Union's new task force on scientific ethics and integrity [agu.org].

    Oops.

    • I would have thought that any task force on that subject would be proactive in identifying breaches of scientific ethics and integrity, which is more or less what some people could conceivably be suggesting the Heartland Institute may be committing. If in order to do so a little subterfuge is needed, that's what they call "investigative journalism" in other quarters.

Getting the job done is no excuse for not following the rules. Corollary: Following the rules will not get the job done.
