Nite_Hawk writes "Inktank, a company that develops and supports the open source Ceph distributed storage system, just announced that Mark Shuttleworth has invested $1 million to support the project. Ceph provides distributed object storage, block storage, and initial support for a multi-mds distributed filesystem. Ceph was integrated into the Linux kernel back in 2010 and had it's first long-term support release made by Inktank in July 2012."
