+ - Valve launches Half-Life 2 for quad-core

Submitted by P Diddly
P Diddly (666) writes "Valve has been talking to bit-tech about the imminent support for quad-core and multi-core processors in the Source Engine. The game will update before Half-Life 2: Episode Two is released and will add performance benefits to upcoming Valve titles for those with Intel Kentsfield or AMD 4x4. Gabe Newell talks about the programming methodology used to achieve the threading and speculates on the future of PC hardware in a "Post-GPU world". Story includes videos of the new hardware benchmark and interviews with Valve programmers. Link to bit-tech article here."
