Anonymous Coward writes "Examiners in the UK have been told to Make Science Easier. From next year 70% of the paper must consist of 'low demand' questions in the form of multiple choice or similar answers. When the recent A level results were announced, with even more students in the UK getting A grades than ever before, the educators were congratulating themselves on improved teaching, and denying that exams had got easier, but with policies like this it is hard to see how the UK could ever compete technically. If science students can pass by guessing, the future of engineering, physics and all other sciences is doomed. As long as science is hard, it will attract hard working pupils who enjoy a challenge."

Well, Jim, I'm not much of an actor either.
