TCP/IP Header Bit Added to Improve Security

J0e 1337 wrote in to tell us about a recent development in the TCP/IP header RFC. He says "According to the just-released RFC, conveniently labeled number 3514 for easy rememberance, a new bit will be added to enhance security. This new evil bit will make it possible to route based on the evil status of any given packet. It's about TIme!!" Each of the 5 bits that have been added is slightly different, due to differing views on good and evil.

bit 1 - definately evil (contains pictures of dead babies being eaten by a man covered in feces)
bit 2 - mostly evil (internal microsoft memo)
bit 3 - pretty evil (download of a vi clone)
bit 4 - kinda evil (how to enlarge your penis)
bit 5 - just mischevious (b00bies)

This allows administrators a fine grained ability to block packets.

It's not the amount that's at issue, but the fact that I'm supporting this. The one comments I've heard around the hallways here after the third, fourth, and now fifth story is, "I'm glad I'm not a subscriber."

The problem is, nobody seems to get it. That RFC is not just humor, it's satire. Dividing packets into "evil" and "benign" is clearly a reference to the "axis of evil" and to the contemporary policy of the United States of America in general. Dividing the world into "good guys" and "bad guys" and exterminating the later is not going to make the world a better place to live, just live marking IP packets as evil and filtering out the later is not going to make Internet more secure.
