South African Open Source TV Show 12

visi writes "'Go_Open' is a 13-episode mainstream-aimed TV series about using open source software, funded by sources including South African entrepreneur and astronaut Mark Shuttleworth's foundation. It includes interviews with major open-source figures such as Richard Stallman, Lawrence Lessig, Jon 'maddog' Hall, and Bruce Perens, as well as case studies and discussions of both Shuttleworth's (Ubuntu Linux) and other South African and global projects that have successfully used open-source elements.     I just tried to load the www.go-opensource.org page three times in Safari (2.0, under OSX 10.4.1) and it crashed each time. Odd.
  • what codec am I missing, totem mplayer and vlc all refused to play sound - according to totem the mp4 files does not even have sound included....
  • Anyone seen this?

      Just finished wathcing first three episodes (downloaded all 13 overnight without problems via torrent).
      They cover blogging, id software games, render farms etc. - and everything on a really basic level, just enough for a joe sixpack.
      Actually this is very, very good - but the only reason to watch it for _me_ was just for fun of seeing good quality tv show with RMS covered as a star.
      My recommendation: download it, rip it and hand it to anyone you want to convince for using FOSS. Send it to your boss, mum and
