  • Some thing I dont get is how you can make an IMAX mini series. Are they just going to film it on IMAX film and play it on regular TV, or will you have to go to the movie theatre and put on those goggle things to see the movie? If it's the latter, will you have to keep going back for the next part? Doesn't sound like a good business model . . .
  • I suggest you check out aint-it-cool again . . .

    It is one project, with two films as a result. One will be a shorter IMAX goodie for places like the Tech Museum, while the other will be a longer film for the little screens.

  • Interesting...When I first heard about this, it was that Cameron was going to do Robinson's Mars trilogy. From the plot synopsis, I gather that is no longer the case.

    I have mixed feelings about that. I'd love to see those books done right, but I don't think that Cameron is the guy to do it.
  • James was the biggest reason why I wrote a film editor for Linux. Too bad he's not doing film anymore.

  • This should be a great vehicle to help drum up public enthusiasm for the laudable goal of a manned mission to Mars. An eager populace is what got us to the moon so quickly, and the ensuing ambivilence is what's kept us from going back. Either mass demand or promise of commercial return are the only ways we're ever going to get to Mars (although the latter will be what *keeps* us there!), and it's great to see our modern heros doing their best to help!

  • First of all, the images are pretty uninspriting. Maybe the guy was using a Sony flappy digicam? ;)

    As far as I can remember, this seems to be the escape clause Cameron came up with for his FOX contract so he can actively pursue his Spiderman dream --this is yet another reason why Cameron is the coolest working director today. It's a shame that he didn't get to do With Wings as Eagel , oh well at least Arnold is still there; I really don't want he to waste his time and energy on Ture Lies 2 or T3. The guy probably still has one and a half great movie left. I pay to god he didn't screw it up;

    Abyss vs Mars Series worst Cameron anyone? Well Strange Days was good, probably he actually can pull it off without putting too much time on it. I wonder if his new wife/girlfriend has anything to do with the project?

  • James Cameron on Mars? Good, let's leave him there!
  • Or regular IMAX theatres. I believe we've got two screens, possibly three, over at Empire 12, and Famous Players is building another couple of screens in it's new multiplex it's building. The one good thing about living on the east coast of Canada when it comes to film ;`)
