jbov writes: In an article bashing Facebook's acquisition of Instagram for $1 billion, Inc.com author Geoffrey James claims that the social media site geared towards professionals, LinkedIn.com, is better positioned to stand the test of time than social media giant Facebook. Geoffrey surmises that LinkedIn.com is not susceptible to being replaced by something more trendy, because it contains "fundamentally dull information", and doesn't try to be trendy in the first place. At the bottom of the article, describing Facebook as "not cool anymore" and only tolerated "because it's convenient", visitors are required to log into Facebook to post comments.
