Cambodia's Prime Minister is Zoombombing Opposition Meetings (restofworld.org) 16

When Cambodia's banned opposition party held a Zoom call on September 9, they hardly expected it to be personally infiltrated by the country's prime minister. From a report: Appearing abruptly and interrupting a speaker, the uninvited guest, Prime Minister Hun Sen, chimed in to warn virtual attendees that their communications were being monitored. "I have been listening, and have entered to listen many times already," the 69-year-old authoritarian leader said, on a video recording of the interaction that circulated widely on Facebook. For about 12 minutes, the prime minister lectured a senior member of the opposition, Long Ry. He wagged his finger as he demanded his rivals, who he had driven into exile, stop insulting him if they ever expected to be allowed to return home.

The events that followed were equally disorienting. A longtime spokesman for the ruling Cambodian People's Party, Senator Sok Eysan, initially attempted to explain that the clip was manipulated from old video footage. After Hun Sen publicly referred to the incident on Facebook -- his favored platform -- Eysan reversed course. He said that the images were real, but that the opposition had recently spread misinformation to imply that the government was reaching out to them. "Tricks," he alleged, "to confuse ... domestic and international views." Later that week, Hun Sen revealed that he'd previously attended 20 online meetings held by the opposition. "This entry was just to give a warning message to the rebel group to be aware that Hun Sen's people are everywhere," Hun Sen wrote on Facebook. "Please be careful, and don't do any activities against the national interest."

Here in the US, we used to laugh at inept tin pot dictator-wanna-bes like this. After the events of the last 4 years though, that now hits close to home and is no longer funny.

The best news I heard today is the Arizona recount by Cyber Ninjas. Turns out Biden won by an even larger margin!

I was worried, I didn't think we'd get to see the patented Trump About-Face. Can't wait to see how long before his "Highly respected auditors" get thrown under the bus.

Don't worry, Republicans are busy in other states working out how to spend tens of millions of taxpayer dollars on more fake audits. Both Pennsylvania and Texas are up next. In fact, in PA, Republicans have requested a ton of personal information from millions of voters for their sham audit, including dirver's license numbers, last four
      • Except that they that despite those results they have further reports that will show problems with the county election process, yada yada yada. So they still show that Biden won in Mariposa county, legitimately, but still claim that there's election fraud. They also bitch that Mariposa was too slow to respond to their legally dubious demands and for some reason was not eager to hand over official ballots to the circus clowns pretending to be auditors.

Essentially there's a lot of fighting still going on be

This is a good place to consider the fakeness of information.

We're all scientists and tech professionals here, there's been a ton of argument over fakeness of news and the societal implications, and here's a really good example of something that can be drilled down to ground-level truth.

Everyone in the MSM is citing a draft of the Arizona audit results that were leaked yesterday. This is only a draft, but there's no reason to believe that the information will change much from the final report. The draft is

The leaked report did not show that Biden "won", only that he got a few more ballots than was reported.

So he won, yes that's what I said.

        • And do you trust the peopel writing the report? These are not "auditors", these were not overseen by a committee of the legislature. These are the bogus Cyber Ninjas with no past experience with auditing, ever. They are staffed by people who believed a-priori that the election was stolen. They need PROOF. Instead they've damaged official ballots making further REAL audits impossible. This is a circus for political showmanship only, nothing more.

One of the interesting things about the Arizona audit is that we have complete transparent evidence of what happened. All procedures were documented, all actions were videotaped, and chain of custody was strictly enforced.

This allows us to put claims up to a more rigorous, scientific scrutiny.

The ballots were taken out of boxes, placed on carousels (for reading), and put back into piles. The ballots were scanned and photographed under UV. All of this was videotaped, the recordings are available for anyone t

Not on topic, but I just spontaneously had to respond to your .sig: "Only the State obtains its revenue by coercion. - Murray Rothbard" Viewed that way, doesn't everyone obtain their revenue by coercion, at least by proxy? Consider a store. Someone goes in to get, let's say milk. They walk to the back of the store where the milk is and grab a gallon of milk. Then they walk to the front of the store and pay, then leave the store. Why don't they just walk right from the back of the store to the doors and out?

So I guess the Cambodia version of Zoom doesn't have host-controlled mute buttons?
