Ukrainian cybersecurity officials have warned that Belarusian state-sponsored hackers are targeting the private email addresses of Ukrainian military personnel. From a report: Announcing the activity in a Facebook post, Ukraine's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-UA) said that a mass phishing campaign is targeting the private i.ua and meta.ua accounts belonging to Ukrainian military personnel. "After the account is compromised, the attackers, by the IMAP protocol, get access to all the messages," it added. "Later, the attackers use contact details from the victim's address book to send the phishing emails." CERT-UA has attributed the ongoing campaign to the UNC1151 threat group, which Mandiant formally linked to the Belarusian government in November 2021. Mandiant also linked the state-backed cyber-espionage group to the Ghostwriter disinformation campaign, which has been involved in spreading anti-NATO rhetoric and hack-and-leak operations throughout Europe. "The Minsk-based group 'UNC1151' is behind these activities. Its members are officers of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus," CERT-UA wrote.

You can't use or trust mere email in such a situation. If internet still functioning comm with high grade encryption is fine but various things about email transfer are kind of a crap shoot, you can' count on end to end TLS

USA did not install any government in Ukraine, they installed their own government and kicked out the oligarch that was stealing their money and building a huge palace (now a museum). If you think this was a US engineered coup in Ukraine, then you need to read more news than from just RT.

Well, some states were trying to adopt bills allowing their legislatures to override the popular vote when deciding electors. I don't think any of these have passed, but unsure. This used to be the norm at the beginning of the union but eventually it was universally agreed to have the choice based upon popular vote. So the states are allowed to do away with that, but they most do so before election day.

Belarus served as a staging ground for Putin's forces, they might as well have declared on Ukraine along with him.
Is there any real upside for Belarus?
Other than eliminating the threat (to Lukashenko) of a neighbouring Democracy they don't have anything to gain, yet they're risking getting caught up in the backlash, not to mention getting caught up in a war if Russia's forces start collapsing back across the border.
All I can think is that Lukasheko has resigned himself to being the "leader" of a full-fledge

Putin has been clear that his medium-term goal is to re-establish the Soviet Union, the USSR.
Biden has been clear that the US isn't going to do anything to get in Putin's way.
Belarus has two choices:
A. Be friendly with their new boss
B. Be killed by the new boss
They aren't going to defeat Russia. They can either go along go dead.

Biden has made it very clear that he's going to make his move in Ukraine as economically painful for Russia as he possibly can.
He also said that if Russian or Belarussian feet even move an inch across the Polish border, he's going to wipe him off the map. He did so by publicly and succinctly spilling a ton of normally secret info about the intel they had gathered on Putin's plans, which Putin did not expect him to know. Pretty harrowing experience for a paranoid guy like Putin.

Belarus has basically been turned into a vassal state. Lukashenko was propped up and the election stolen on his behalf by Putin, just like Yanukovych before he got ousted. Putin's preferred method of operation is installing puppet governments that he more or less has complete control of. Lukashenko is literally one of his lap dogs, he was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union all through the 80's and up until the collapse and is "Independent" now. Lukashenko has been a puppet for a very long time. Not from the start, since that was before Putin was in power. But he's a part of the alliance (of 2?) opposed to democratic governments in the region. Lukashenko makes Putin look like a nice guy.
