Slashdot Notes
Slashdot, NS2 and Opera - I made the change. NS2 is no longer going to work with Slashdot. It was one or the other, and Opera had twice as many hits last week. Sorry to the couple hundred NS2 readers out there, but i guess it's finally time to upgrade.
Fonts - Ok ok, I fixed the typo in the font *grin*
Flat Comments Mode - I know a lot of you want this feature. We had it up. It was working, and it had a mem leak. It'll be back as soon as I have a few hours to make sure that it's bug free again. I'm going to have an alternate homepage that will link directly to the flat comments page too, but you may have to wait until after finals.
gigantic thanks to everyone who has been using the CD Now link on the front page. I ordered 3 more CDs on Tuesday (Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, and Floyd). Thanks to each of you who have given me some musical joy.
The Bookstore. Go there. Read the review of MicroSerfs. Buy it. This is definately the coolest geek book I've ever read. Buy it. Borrow it. Steal it. Just read it. It was written like 5 years ago and it actually mentions Linux. That alone warrants the reading time. It's a cheap book and you won't regret it. I have absolutely no free time to read a book, but I would make time for a book this good.
We should have a couple of cool advertisers RSN. I plan on putting together a page listing our advertisers 'cuz a lot of you have asked who is supporting the site because that will affect purchasing decisions. I'm going to get that list together soon.
Mugs! Ok they are out of the Kiln. I made 23, but only about 12 of them are going to be shipped out (some aren't drinkable, some aren't very good, and a few of them have already been claimed by the locals). If you really want to make sure you get one, email me again.
MST & Southpark - Thanks to everyone who has offered to send me MST3k tapes. I still need older episodes, but it looks like I'll have no problems getting season 8 and 9. And thanks to everyone who sent me RealVideo Southpark mirrors. I d/l'd them all, burned a CDR of them, and last night watched half of them on a P100 connected to my TV with a crappy scan convertor. It was great.
